Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, bank details, or a full pay statement. For an estimate question, a made-up example with the same hours and rules is usually enough.
Common questions
Where can I download Shift?
Shift is in development. Public download details will appear on its homepage when available. No public release date is announced here.
Is Shift part of the Daywright app?
Shift is a separate app for shifts, hours, pay estimates, and life around work. It has its own local data. It does not share or sync information with Daywright.
Why is projected gross different from my payslip?
Projected gross includes scheduled work and possible overtime based on the rules you entered. It is before taxes and deductions, and does not apply employer rules automatically. Payments received are separate manual receipts. See how estimates work.
Does it clock me in or connect to my employer?
No. You enter shifts and confirm actual hours yourself. A Live Activity shows planned time only. Shift has no employer or bank connection.
Why does my widget ask me to open Shift?
Widgets use a limited snapshot and can become outdated. Open Shift to refresh it. Shift names and pay estimates are hidden by default; their controls are in Settings.
Does Shift sync or back up my records?
Yes, optionally. In Settings → Your Apple devices → iCloud sync, enable Sync with iCloud in Shift on each device using the same Apple Account. Local use remains available with sync off. Daywright and Shift do not sync with each other. Device backups are separate from sync. See setup and sync status.
Why is a Watch action still Pending?
The phone has not confirmed saving it yet. Open Shift on your paired iPhone and check the Watch status. Captured titles appear in Watch drafts for you to choose an estimate and save. A stale Watch list needs a refresh before completion or undo. See the Watch guide.
Why did an arrival reminder not appear?
Check that the to-do has a saved place and Arrival reminder enabled, then check location and notification permissions on this device. Open Nearby to-dos and read any limit or unavailable notice. The operating system controls delivery, so an alert may be delayed. See nearby setup.
Does pausing sync delete my iCloud copy?
No. Turning sync off pauses transfers. Data already in iCloud remains, and offline changes stay on the device. A device backup is separate. Read the privacy policy before removing app or iCloud data.
